UP. I'm saving up for a jawbone so I prepared my phone for that glorious day.

Hope you enjoyed a nosy into my phone, I know it was quite a long post but I didn't just want overview it and miss things out.

Until next time.

Basically this is my chance to tell you guys 7 random facts about me and then find out about 15 other bloggers I love.

My top 10 picks on Netflix.

As a Christmas present to the house I signed up to Netflix and I definitely don't regret it. My poor laptop hasn't been turned off since!! Netflix isn't hard to navigate but sometimes I find myself scrolling though the endless lists of tv shows and movies not fancying anything.

So, not in any particular order here are my current top 10 pick for Netflix February 2015.

1: Grimm.
If you like a good supernatural series this has everything apart from vampires (yet). It's so refreshing to find a supernatural show that doesn't focus on the undead these days. This show is sort of a mixture of Buffy and CSI.

2: Orange is the new black.
Everyone will have recommended this Netflix original but it's definitely worth watching! I finished both seasons in less than 2 weeks.

3: All the Disney movies.
I know this is a bit of a cop out but if I listed all the Disney films on Netflix they would fill this entire list. There are so many on there at the moment, Hercules, Mulan, Aladdin, Pocahontas and soooo many more. If your a Disney junkie Netflix is the place to be.

4: Carrie, original and remake.
Netflix doesn't have the best selection of horror films, out of all of them I recommend the recent Carrie revamp. If you haven't seen the original watch it first, but for a remake I really enjoyed this one.

5: Buffy the Vampire Slayer
This is my favourite tv show of all time, even though I own the box set it's always helpful to be able to watch it on the go. I've lost count how many time I've re-watched this series. It's nice to see a classic on there.

6: Greek.
I had seen this before but never really got into, after giving it another go I can't stop watching. It's not really for everyone, following the lives of two college students trying to navigate the bitchy world of the greek system. Pretty much all of the plot lines are a tad far fetched but that's what makes it funny.

7: The sweetest thing.
The chick flick for girls who hate chick flicks! If this is you and you haven't seen it, you need to! Otherwise you will never know the joys of Cameron Diaz's hilarious dancing during the best musical number ever. If you do fancy a proper chick flick Netflix also has the classics like clueless and 10 things I hate about you.

8: Never back down.
This is one for those couples that can never agree on a movie. It has all the testosterone to satisfy the boyf and so many topless men any girl would be happy to sit through this movie.

9: The Hobbit series.
Obviously they don't have the most recent release yet, but if you fancy a Tolkien marathon, it's right there at the click of a button.

10: The Undateables.
Best reality dating show ever.
I love this so much, it's so nice to see that there really is someone for everyone.

Until next time.

10 reasons bartending is the best job ever.

One of my first posts was about my biggest pet peeves as a bartender. But it's not all doom and gloom, I wouldn't stay in a job I didn't love. Here are 10 reasons why being a bartender is one of the best jobs.

1: 'I'll have a double monster redubull'
hahahahhaha do you want to try again?

2: Social life
Many people think that because we work unsociable hours we have no life. But we're are constantly surrounded by people even if they are drunk.

3: Other bartenders
You can't really help but love all other bartenders, they know the struggle. They're what gets us through those particularly bad shifts. Not to mention staff parties are possibly the best parties ever!

4: Sleep
Working nights means I can totally justify sleeping ALL day.

5: People watching
Watching drunk people make absolute idiots out of themselves is by far my favourite part of working behind a bar. Until I remember that's me when I've had a drink.

6: Getting paid to party
Think about it, we get paid to listen to music and spend the night with our friends. it's just like a sober night out, but behind the bar. Sometimes it doesn't even feel like your working.

7: Staff discount
A perk that comes with most service jobs but it's much more enjoyable when that discount is on alcohol.

8: Knowledge
Knowing so many cocktail recipes and the percentage of every drink known to man is essential to life.

9: The genuinely nice customers.
A lot of drunk people turn into complete arseholes but we always forget about those that just quietly wait their turn and are actually nice to the people behind the bar. Shout out to the unsung nice drunkards.

10: Games and pranks.
For those quiet nights we need some form of entertainment, here's a few examples we do.
- Sunday funday. The rules vary but someone ends up soaking wet.
-'Can you run downstairs and get me some ice making solution?'
- Hide the lime! (My personal favourite)

Until next time.

2014 favourites.

I know it's really late but here's my 2014 favourites.

Beauty.

Estée Lauder double wear: 1N1 Ivory nude.
I've been using this foundation for well over three years now and no matter how many new ones I try, I always find myself coming back to this one. It gives flawless coverage and I haven't found another foundation that can match its staying power.

I only really started using this in December but I love it that much it needed to be mentioned. Look for a review in the near future.

Clinique Take off the day Makeup remover.
I don't think I could live without this! I must have at least 20 sample sizes and a good few back ups. For someone that swears by waterproof eye makeup this is an essential, it just cuts straight through the toughest eye makeup.

Another very recent addition to my favourites, I picked this up in America when I realised I had forgot to pack toothpaste. It was the best decision I've ever made. I have always had a problem with the taste of toothpaste, I have no idea why but this is the first one I like.

Best hair brush ever.

I can't even count how many of these I've been through. It's the perfect daytime lipstick, it's sort of muted plum but with pink and nude tones.

When I had my makeup done at the illamasqua counter in Manchester last winter, I was convinced the MUA was out of his mind using such a dark shade on me. No matter what colour I dye my hair this shade had always worked, I can't use any other brow products anymore it just doesn't feel right. Illamasqua has got it on point with their eyebrow cakes, they're just so easy to use and applies so smoothly. I can't imagine every using a different product for my eyebrows.

Macadamia natural oil deep repair masque.
I love this soooooooooooo much but its really hard to justify the price. I can just about manage to make a small tub last 6 months so I suppose I could justify a huge tub a year (but only when it's on sale).

Origins Drink up overnight mask.
This is by far the nicest smelling, most luxurious moisture mask I've ever used. I use this once a week to fight winter dryness.

Fashion.

During three years I've gone through countless pairs of vans for work. I decided to give the office own brand slip ons a go. Nearly a year later and they're still going strong. Only needing a wipe down once a week, and all for only £30.

I've found myself navigating to H&M whenever I've needed/ wanted new clothes this year. It honestly has nothing to do with one opening in Lincoln ;) It's become the new Primark to me, the prices are cheap but the quality is amazing.

Films.

I had been waiting for this film for years! It was just perfect.

It's so sad that it's all over. Back in the day me and my parents saw The Lord of the rings multiple times at the cinema, it's the end of an era. Now I want to watch it again... To the cinema!!

Books.

Divergent.
I haven't really read a lot of books this year, but after putting it off for years I finally read divergent. I'm so mad at myself that I didn't read it before the film came out but the film is actually quite true to the book for a book to film movie.

There are so many more things I loved this year but these are all the things that jumped out at me when I sat down to write this. I might start monthly favourites just so the lists are shorter:)

Until next time.

2015 bucket list.

I don't believe in New Years resolutions, I just associate the label with failure.

Instead I like to make a list of things I want to do or accomplish in the year to come. I know that's virtually the same but  in my head it makes sense.
There are so many things I have planned for 2015 but I'm sure this list will grow throughout the year. But here's what I have so far.

1: Visit somewhere new: This year im planning a trip round Europe with one of my friends. Hopefully I'll be able to save enough money to head out at the end of summer.

2: Spend less time sleeping.
Working nights I justify sleeping all day, but this year I want to actually make my days useful. The world is my oyster and all that shit.

3: Decide on a career.
I love working behind a bar but it's not really going anywhere, this year I want to find a career I'm good at and enjoy.

4: Leave the past in the past.
I know this one's pretty cliché but I've spent far too long living with the past hanging over me. This year I want to focus on my future and find a way to remember that you can't change your history.

Hopefully, this list will grow over the year and as I tick things off as I go along.

I hope you are all having a great start to the new year <3

Until next time.

10 ways to survive a long haul flight.

1: Pack comfy socks in your hand luggage, I read somewhere to pack slippers, don’t. They waste far too much space in your bag, I learnt that the hard way.

2: If you can, don’t fly economy. If that’s your only option, try and get one of the seats behind the galley. Its murphy’s law that you’ll be stuck behind the one dick that has their seat all the way back for the entire flight.

3: Pack a portable charger. Most airlines allow the use of all electronic devices as long as they are in flight mode. I’m writing this half way across the Atlantic.

4: Pack ear plugs/ earphones. Even though that one guy pissing himself at the TV is hilarious, it’s quite distracting.

5: If you don’t need it on the flight, don’t pack it. (Or put it in your checked bag).

6: Pack or buy a neck pillow. I was a non-believer in the neck pillow until now, if you want to sleep during the flight it makes a huge difference. They tend to come with snappers and most airlines will allow it attached to the handles of your carry on.

7: If your travelling alone and leg room isn’t a necessity try to get a window seat. At least that way you can use the wall as a pillow and you get a view.

8: If you don’t mind a lack of protein, order a vegan meal. They are usually served first.

9: Hopefully your flight has a seat back TV, if not make sure you have entertainment. Even if it does make sure you have something else, watching three films back to back can get surprisingly boring.

10: Always take a jumper or hoodie. I don’t care if your flying to the equator, they always turn the air conditioning on when your already a little chilly.

Until next time.

Beauty products you abused in your teens that you still love today.

I can honestly say that my makeup skills have come a long way in the last seven years or so. In high school I was 'that' girl.

'That' orange girl who didn't realise her choice of foundation colour actually mattered.
'That' girl who wore bronzer as blusher and looked vaguely like a satsuma.
'That' girl who didn't understand the concept of lipstick so 'foundation lips' were the staple.
'That' girl who loved choppy, bright eyeshadows with the thickest, blackest eyeliner you could buy.

Now I know I wasn't alone in my makeup blunders, mainly because all my friends looked exactly the same! oh the shame we feel today.

Some would blame the products they used for the disaster that was their face. Me on the other hand, I know that it was my own fault that I looked like I'd fallen head first through makeup factory. But some of the products that enabled my orange complexion are still in my collection.

Boujois delice de poudre: Most of you will know it as the chocolate bronzer (the smell being main reason we all bought it). This is a golden oldie for me, I'm not one of these people that sees the need to constantly splurge on bronzer. Ive just finished a MAC bronzer (golden) and honestly I don't see the hype behind high end bronzers.

Collection (2000) felt eyeliner: I know that the felt eyeliner is a relatively new thing for the make up community but when this came out, I was nearing the end of high school and started to notice how ridiculously like a panda I looked. This staple helped me thin down my eyeliner as its so much easier to work with than pencils. At less that £4 I don't see the point in paying out for higher end versions.

Everything from Urban Decay:  At least when I was in my teens, urban decay was the brand to have, those glitter eyeliners! god, I will never understand the obsession with glitter liners, although they do look quite nice layered over shadow. The book of shadows was the first ever eyeshadow palette and first UD product I owned (not that I really knew what to do with it). I still whip it out every now and then when I'm feeling a bright look. Urban decay is one of those brands that will stand the test of time, they are one of the only high end brands that offer collections outside the bog standard neutral colours.

November empties.

This has been a pretty boring month of empties, I've only used up products that are already staples in my collection.
I think I might do project 10 pan in December so that I can clear out my collection and be able to give you guys my input on products I haven't been using for years.

Clinique repairwear laser focus eye cream: Now, I know I'm only 22 but I'm a firm believer in fighting the signs of ageing early. My eye area is the one place on my face that I prioritise - who wants crows feet? right?
I don't just love this because of the claims it makes. The creamy texture feels so luxurious day or night, and I find it sits nicely under my make up. I will probably keep repurchasing this forever I love it that much.

M.A.C pro-longwear concealer, NC20: I've had this in my collection for years although until recently it's just sort of been there I've never really reached for it. Mainly because I hate the packaging, that pump is pointless and wastes a lot of product. But with that said this looks amazing in pictures and I'm learning to live with the pump issue.

M.A.C prep and prime highlighter, radiant rose: This is another one that lives in my collection that only gets pulled out when I remember I have it. When I do realise I have this I love it and use it pretty much every day. I have repurchased this but I'm not sure why really. The only time I really feel like it's necessary is the morning after the night before where my eyes need a little bit of love.

Ogx keratin oil shampoo and conditioner: This is a staple in my hair care routine. I'm not one of these people who picks a shampoo and sticks with it, I tend to have a few on the go at once switching between so my hair doesn't get too used to the product. This range claims to help with breakage prone hair and since using this I can genuinely say that my hair has been much stronger. I will definitely be repurchasing this range.

No7 colour calming primer: absolutely love this primer and oddly not for the color calming claims, I do get rather red cheeks nothing major but I initially bought this to help with that. This keeps my foundation on so well! It doesn't matter to me that it does very little for my redness! I'm on my 5th bottle and will probably keep repurchasing it.

Cetaphil gentle cleanser: I've been using this since I started reading beauty blogs and watching YouTube. It's just a great cleanser to have in the shower. I will probably always use this as my shower cleanser.

Until next time.

Bartender's biggest pet peeves.

I have worked in a bar for over three years now and don't get me wrong I love it. But sometimes drunk people can be the worst people you will ever meet. Most bars/ clubs follow a standard six steps of service. Here are some the problems most bartender's experience on an average night.

Photo: Esqire.com

Welcome.

- That napkin is there for a reason, please, just leave it.
- Theres no need to shout, click or waver your money at us, we can see you.
- If your going to ignore us when we get to you, don't call us back. You missed your turn.
- Don't ask to be next, that's you last on the list.
- If you give up your turn for the attractive female next to you, don't expect to be next.

Order.

- Tell us the whole order in one go, we don't have the memory of a goldfish.
- We love making making cocktails, but please if you order half the menu expect to be at the bar for while.
- "What shots do you do?" everything you see behind us is shotable. Use your eyes.
- "What's your cheapest drink?" The shit stuff.

Preparation.

- If you don't want ice, please tell us when you order. If it ends up on the bar, you're on our blacklist.

Creation.

-"Is there vodka in this?" No i just thought I'd give you a glass of coke.
-"Thats definitely a double, right?" You just watched me pour it, what do you think?

Presentation.

- Why do drunk people insist on taking their drink before it's finished?!
- Please wait until the drink is made to add your straws. Most bartenders will put them in for you.
- If you spill your drink, your not getting a free one. If we spill it then it's a different story.

Payment.

- Please have your money ready. Everyone else is going to be shooting you dirty looks if you take ten minutes to get your wallet out.
- Why do drunk people insist on putting money on the bar?! You try to pick coins out of the only wet patch of the bar.
- If theres a massive sign saying cash only, it means cash only.
- Unless theres are offers on, No you're not getting any discount.

I could go on forever but it's not all doom and gloom. Working in a bar is one of the best places to work, especially if you are a student trying to support your expensive lifestyle.

Until next time.

My favourite blogs.

It's no secret that youtube is taking over the world, I love binge watching vloggers and fail videos as much as another person.

but most of them started out by blogging, and after spending the past few years religiously reading my favourite blogs while avoiding university assignments they inspired me to start my own.

So heres a list of my favourite blogs and why I love them.

Hannah Michalak, is one of my all time favourite blogger/ youtubers. I find myself counting down the days until sunday, when her latest video goes up and the only thing that calms this craving is reading her regular blog posts.

Everybody who reads blogs knows who Kandee Johnson is. She doesn't even need an explanation. She's just amazing.

After a year of living less that 50 feet from each other we became very good friends:) and when she finally let me read her blog, the deal was sealed I knew I wanted to start my own. If you enjoy beauty, fashion and lifestyle I'm sure you will fall head over heels for Nicola's blog.

Until next time.
